In Very Good Antique Condition - Perforation Wear, Imperforate Edge, Toning Due To Age And History-Collectors Watermarked That Is Not On The Stamp.
This Poster Stamp From 1905 Commemorates The 400th Anniversary Of The Invention Of The Pocket Watch, Celebrated At The Historical Clock Exhibition In Nuremberg, Germany. It Features A Statue Of Peter Henlein, A Nuremberg Locksmith And Watchmaker Often Credited With Developing The First Portable, Spring-Driven Timepiece Around 1505. The Exhibition Took Place From July 1 To September 30, 1905, Honoring Henlein’s Contribution To Horology. The Stamp’s Design Includes Geometric Patterns And A Green-Black Color Scheme, Typical Of Early 20th-Century Promotional Ephemera.
