In Good Antique Condition - Perforation Wear, Toning Due To Age And History-Collectors Watermarked That Is Not On The Stamp.
This Poster Stamp Was Issued For The 1906 Milan International Exposition, Held In Milan, Italy, From April To November 1906. The Event Celebrated The Inauguration Of The Simplon Tunnel, A Major Railway Connection Between Italy And Switzerland Completed That Same Year. The Stamp Features Allegorical Figures Representing Art And Labor, With The Words "Ars" And "Labor" Displayed Prominently. It Was Printed By The Italian Banknote Company In Rome And Reflects The Art Nouveau Style Common In Early 20th-Century Design. This Stamp Served A Promotional Purpose And Was Not Valid For Postage.
