On June 5, Aviator George Beatty Conducted A Flight Carrying Two Passengers For Over An Hour Using A Wright Type "B" Biplane With A 50-Horsepower Gyro Motor. On June 6, Henry C. Crowell Of Asheville, North Carolina, Earned An Aviator's Certificate From The Aero Club Of America After Completing Required Test Flights In Challenging Wind Conditions. Crowell Had Begun Flying Only A Month Prior Under Beatty’s Instruction. His Test Was Judged By Oscar Brindley, A Wright Factory Expert, And Lieutenant Henry Arnold, A Future U.S. Air Force General.
