In Very Good Antique Condition - Trimmed Edges, Toning Due To Age And History-Collectors Watermarked That Is Not On The Clipping.
The June 10, 1913, Flight Of The Goodyear Balloon In Akron, Ohio, Marked A Significant Advancement In Early Aviation. The Balloon, Inflated With Natural Gas Over Four Hours, Had A Capacity Of 80,000 Cubic Feet And A Diameter Of 50 Feet. This Same Balloon Competed In The 1912 National Elimination Race In Kansas City. The Successful Use Of Natural Gas Demonstrated Its Viability As An Alternative To Hydrogen For Ballooning. Akron, A Growing Hub For Aeronautics, Was Home To Goodyear's Early Experiments In Lighter-Than-Air Flight. This Flight Contributed To The Development Of Goodyear's Later Airships. The Event Showcased Technological Progress In Ballooning, Cementing Akron’s Role In Aviation History.
