This 1913 Clipping Documents Lieutenant Von Hiddessen's Victory In The Prince Henry Reliability Tour, An Aviation Competition Testing Aircraft Performance And Pilot Skill. The Event Was Named After Prince Heinrich Of Prussia, A Prominent Supporter Of Early Aviation. Von Hiddessen Flew A D.F.W. Monoplane, Manufactured By Deutsche Flugzeug-Werke, A German Aircraft Company Active In The Early 20th Century. The Image Shows Him Seated In His Open-Cockpit Aircraft, Wearing Period Aviation Gear. This Competition Occurred During A Period Of Rapid Aviation Advancement Before World War I, When European Nations Were Developing Military And Civilian Aviation Capabilities.
