This 1919 Photograph Print Clipping Documents The British Rigid Airship R-34 Shortly After Landing From A Trial Flight Conducted Immediately Before Its Historic Transatlantic Journey. The Caption Identifies The Image As A Rear View Taken After A Preparatory Flight That Preceded The Airship’s July 1919 Crossing From Scotland To The United States. R-34 Became The First Aircraft To Complete A Nonstop Transatlantic Flight While Carrying Multiple Crew And Passengers And Later Became The First Aircraft To Cross The Atlantic In Both Directions.
In Very Good Antique Condition – Trimmed Edges, Paper Toning Due To Age And History-Collectors Watermarked That Is Not On The Clipping. Measures Approx. 8-5/8" Wide by 6-1/8" Tall.
