This 1928 Clipping Documents Donations From Locals Of The Amalgamated Association Of Street And Electric Railway Employees Of America To Support Coal Miners Locked Out In Pennsylvania, Ohio, And West Virginia. The Lockouts Occurred After Coal Operators Refused To Renew Wage Agreements And Demanded Pay Cuts To The Miners Following The 1924 Jacksonville Agreement. In April 1927, The United Mine Workers Of America Initiated A Strike In Response. Operators Responded By Shutting Mines And Denying Work To Union Miners. The Clipping Shows $5,457.45 Raised In Solidarity, Reflecting Inter-Union Support During A Major National Labor Dispute.
