This 1945 Photograph Print Clipping Shows U.S. Military Personnel Loading A Wounded Soldier On A Stretcher Into A Hospital Plane During World War II. Aircraft Such As The C-47 Skytrain And C-54 Skymaster Were Used To Transport Multiple Patients At Once, Often With Medical Staff Onboard. The System Greatly Reduced Transport Time And Increased Survival Rates. This Practice Marked A Major Advancement In Military Medicine And Was A Key Element Of Allied Medical Logistics In 1945.
