This Early 20th-Century Postcard Titled "Pasig River, Manila, P.I." Depicts A Key Trade And Transport Route In The Philippine Islands (P.I.). The Pasig River Connected Manila Bay To Laguna De Bay And Was A Major Commercial Waterway During The Spanish Colonial Period And The American Colonial Period. The Image Shows Steamships, Sailboats, And Native Boats, Reflecting The Blend Of Western And Indigenous Maritime Commerce. Under American Rule, Manila’s Ports Were Modernized To Strengthen Trade.
