This Real Photo Postcard Shows The Upstream Face Of The Grand Coulee Dam During Its Construction In The 1930s. Built On The Columbia River In Washington State, The Dam Was A Key Project Of The New Deal, Funded By The Public Works Administration. Construction Began In 1933 And The Main Structure Was Completed In 1941. The Image Captures Temporary Steel Framework And Cranes Used In Early Building Phases.
