In Very Good Vintage Condition - Unused, Unposted, Paper Toning Due To Age And History-Collectors Watermarked That Is Not On Postcard.
This Postcard Shows Aerial Flooding Caused By Beargrass Creek In The Eastern End Of Louisville, Kentucky, With Ballard Mills Prominently In The Foreground. The Photo Was Taken By Caulfield & Shook And Published By Julian R. Fisher Of 219 West Main Street, Louisville. The Image Documents A Specific Urban Flood Event Prior To Widespread Federal Flood Control Measures. Beargrass Creek, A Tributary Of The Ohio River, Frequently Overflowed During Periods Of Heavy Rainfall In The Early 20th Century.
