In January 1973, SS Southern Cross Was Sold To Greece-Based Ulysses Lines And Renamed SS Calypso. It Underwent Significant Modifications In Piraeus To Become A Dedicated Cruise Ship, Including The Replacement Of The Indoor Pool With A Disco And The Refitting Of Cabins To Include Private Bathrooms. This Reduced Its Passenger Capacity To 1,000. The Ship Served Various Routes, Including Mediterranean Cruises And A Season Around South America.
